The boat then passes a lost safari group that has been chased up a pole by an angry black rhinoceros and are now trapped and surrounded by spotted hyenas. Up ahead several crocodiles are seen resting on a small beach, while a school of hungry piranha are jumping in the hopes of attacking the guests.
The boats slowly pass through the main village, where several upright shields rest in the tall grass. Nearly two dozen life-size Indian elephants like these playful fellows will splash and squirt and spray at Disneyland this Summer in the new Adventureland Jungle River Cruise. Jungle Cruise, formally named Jungle River Cruise, is a riverboat amusement ride located in the Adventureland themed section at various Disney theme parks worldwide. Park guests board replica steam launches from a 1930s British explorers' lodge, and Audio-Animatronic exotic animals are displayed throughout the ride. The queues at both the Jungle Cruise in Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, are extremely similar. When you enter the queue at either location, you’ll be waiting outdoors (but there is some cover overhead). You’ll wind your way past areas decorated with pictures, maps, journals, and more all themed around explorations and river cruises through the jungle. As more technologically advanced attractions have been added to thepark over the years, the Jungle Cruise has, by comparison, lost some of itsluster. Though still a good attraction, it offers few thrills and no surprisesfor Disneyland Park veterans, many of whom can rattle off the ride’s narrationright along with the guide. The queue takes place in a small boathouse less elaborate than the boathouses found at the other parks. After winding through the queue, guests board one of the boats and meet their skipper who speaks either English, Cantonese, or Mandarin, to accompany the park's guests who speak many different languages themselves. The changes included removing the headhunter tribe, the pygmy camp, the previous trapped safari, and Chief Nah-Mee. This attraction also explicitly featured, "Adventureland" as a geographic location in-universe rather than an anachronistic combination of locales. In the queue's entrance is company founder Dr. Albert Falls' map of the, "Jungle Rivers of Adventureland", a series of supernatural rivers connecting locations across the world into the realm of, "Adventureland". Throughout the queue are references to the lost crew of the Kwango Kate consisting of skipper Felix Pechman XIII, Dr. Kon Chunosuke, Siobhan Murphy, Rosa Soto Dominguez, and Dr. Leonard Moss.

Passengers then glide precariously under the first of a pair of stone arches severely damaged by an earthquake centuries ago. These are part of the ruins of an ancient Cambodian city where a crumbling temple is one of the few things which have managed to avoid tumbling into the river. Here passengers see an Indochinese tiger, giant spiders, king cobras and mugger crocodiles. Passing a statue of a bowing elephant, the boats pass under the second arch and enter the Sacred Indian Elephant Bathing Pool.
Additionally, while both Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise and Disney World’s Jungle Cruise take Guests under Schweitzer Falls, the “Backside of Water” does look different at each park. At Magic Kingdom in Disney World, the falls are a larger and more impressive feature. With more space and more flair, the Jungle Cruise at Disney World feels more elaborate overall – and there’s more of a “wow” factor. Guests also feel more isolated on this version of the attraction, which makes the experience seem more realistic.
While the lands may be laid out differently, and feature slightly different theming, they’re quite similar. At Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the Jungle Cruise starts inside a Cambodian temple. Guests onboard enter the temple, where they’ll spot a Bengal tiger, cobra, and monkey. Instead, the ride begins by taking Guests past a series of Cambodian ruins. As a result, the ride’s scenes are in a different order at each park, leading to a bit of a mixed-up or different story order. You feel more isolated on the Walt Disney World attraction, which makes the experience seem more realistic.
